新闻网讯（通讯员 王槐杰）为促进学生的全面发展，提高英语实用水平，进一步深层认知网络世界，油画系立足当下，于2016年6月15日晚6点，在A12-207教室举办“探讨四维、放眼网络”主题英语演讲比赛。英语教师龚芳、Fashion英语社口语部部长作为本次演讲赛的评委，油画系15级全体学生参加了本次比赛。
本次比赛以英语演讲为主要形式，探讨当下的网络环境对于同学们的社会生活各方面的作用影响，更进一步深掘，以点带面地交流了同学们对于网络在一个社会国家，一个时代等宏观角度的认识。通过流利并富于情感的英语口语表达、特色各异的现场表现，极具风格的个人视点，不仅充分展示了我系学生的英语水平和学校的教学成果，体现了油画系学子关注时事、极具个性的社会角色，促进了同学间彼此进一步的了解认识，更通过对于时代焦点地探讨，一定程度提高了同学们的社会主人公意识，激发了同学们的关于国家的责任情感。比赛结束后，龚老师对同学们的演讲做了集中点评，充分肯定了同学们对网络信息时代的深刻认知以及对英语高度的学习热情，在对本次比赛圆满完成表示衷心祝贺的同时，也提出了非常中肯的意见，期待同学们在将来能够有更高水平的表现。

“Eyes on the Internet, Probe into Four-dimensional”
With the development of the Internetand the popularization of computers, more and more people become dependent on the internet. According to the statistics, in China, students are the largest part of the online population. Internet has a great impact on college students’ life.
Firstly, I want to talk about the advantages of the internet.
First, Internet provides students with many chances to broaden communication with others and improve their relationship with friends. Wechat and QQ on the internet allow students to communicate conveniently with friends at home and abroad.
Second, the Internet brings a particular opportunity for students to obtain a large amount of information that can help them with their study. For example, on the internet I always read some passages about art which bring great beneficial to me. In addition, I can watch the world famous paintings and sculptures.
What’s more, through the Internet, college students can download some useful applications which are necessary for their studies, such as textbooks, YouDao dictionary, and wps office. Students can also shop online. They can do all the process at dormitory without selecting something they want from one shop to another, which saves them much time.
Besides, MP3, movies, pictures, games and some other things for daily entertainment can be easily obtained from the Internet.
The internet has many obvious advantages, but as the old saying goes: “every coin has two sides,” the internet also has its negative influence.
First, some boys are addicted to MMOG (massive multiplayer online games). Every time I pass by the cybercafé, I can see some boys who look like very dispirited go out from the cybercafé. I can’t read youth and vitality on their faces, but only depression and decadence. We should take MMOG into serious consideration. One reason is that MMOG influences our youth peoples’ physical and psychological health severely. Another reason is that some famous MMOG are developed by theUSand I am afraid that theUSaims at spoiling our young people.
Second, some applications such as microblog, friend circle and so on influence our life and study deeply. We hold the mobile phone from morning till night, we can’t leave the phone, we even hold the phone fall into dream. But, have you ever thought about what the meaning is of playing mobile phone? Especially for college students, if we hold the phone, update our friend circle, mircoblog all the time, do we have enough time to study?
My dear friends, the internet has both advantages and disadvantages. Therefore, we should develop a rational attitude towards it and avoid any undesirable consequence.
