新闻网讯（通讯员 陈晨 苏晴）为进一步培育和践行社会主义核心价值观，帮助大学生树立正确的价值信仰，为其健康成长成长保驾护航。2017年5月17日晚6时，在A12-107教室举办了由油画系、公共课部、校团委联合主办“谈诚信”英语演讲赛。本次英语演讲赛吸引了10个系20余名选手参与，致力于以“诚信”为主题，鼓励广大学生以英语为工具传播“中国声音”、讲述“中国故事”。英语教研室焦迪老师、周雅娴老师作为本次比赛的评委，校团委书记黄晓仑老师、学工部杨许超老师作为嘉宾出席了本次比赛。

这次比赛通过英语演讲的形式，以社会主义核心价值观24字中“诚信”为主题，比赛分为3分钟限时演讲和评委互动问答两个环节。现场秩序井然，各参赛选手尽显其能，以流利并富于情感的口语表达，获得现场一再的掌声，肢体语言的巧妙运用甚至是与评委的积极互动更让人眼前一亮。或有参赛选手由于情绪紧张而失言忘词，但也依旧因为得到了全场观众的鼓励而坚持到最后一刻。整场比赛，气氛积极热烈，高潮迭起，热烈的掌声都作锦上花，添光加彩。

在演讲和提问环节结束后，j焦迪老师对同学们的演讲做了集中点评，充分肯定了同学们对谈诚信的深刻理解以及对英语学习的热情，指出以英语演讲的形式进行社会主义核心价值观弘扬，不仅通过了固有的文化内核促进了同学们对英语独特语言结构的进一步认识，更重要的是给予同学们动力，以更加积极主动的方式去了解学习社会主义核心价值观，深化对“诚信”的认知，提高自身的素质，注重道德规范。

最后，经过激烈的角逐，油画系林晟荣获一等奖，油画系文徐芊慧、油画系陈煜杰荣获二等奖，油画系周玉豪，水彩系唐麓麓、版画系周梦玲荣获三等奖。

To Be an Honest Man

Hello everybody, my name’s Listen. It is a really special name. My topic today is honesty and credibility.

When we come to a river just to find all the fish are dead, what do you think happened? To tell the truth, there is a factory out there. It is pumping chemicals into the river. How can they do that? Isn’t that against the law? Yes ,it is．But a lot of companies ignore those laws. If a company is dishonest，I believe it will fail in the end. Honesty maybe dear bought，but can never be an ill pennyworth.

I think unemployment is getting worse. As companies get more efficient and more computerized, they are finding ways of using less staff. So I guess people will find it hard to get a good job unless they have excellent qualifications. But excellent qualifications do not include honesty, with honesty a basic quality. A saying goes “Lying is the first step to the gallows.”

Honesty is very important，and if you have a good appearance and talents but you always lie，maybe no one wants to make friends with you, just because you’re not reliable. When I make friends，I would at first check out his characters and sincerity.

An honest man’s word is as good as his bond. Be an honest person ,you will win more respect and success.
